What each one is

What is the difference between PostPixel and Buffer?

POSTPIXEL

Posts made from your job photos

PostPixel is an AI social media tool for local businesses and the agencies that serve them. You upload your business photos, 25 at a time with no limit on the total, and Pixel turns them into finished posts in your brand, with captions in your voice. It creates up to 5 posts at once, then you approve them and post now or schedule.

BUFFER

Social media scheduling and publishing tool

Buffer is a social media scheduler. You bring the posts (your photos, your designs, your captions) and Buffer publishes them on a schedule across many channels. It has an AI Assistant on every plan to help with writing, and integrations with tools like Canva, Google Drive and Google Photos.

The main difference

Scheduling vs making the posts.

The real question is who makes the posts. Buffer is very good at getting a finished post out on time. It does not turn a photo of a finished water heater install into a designed, branded post with a caption. PostPixel does that part. If your bottleneck is scheduling, Buffer is a low-cost fit. If your bottleneck is making the posts in the first place, that is the job PostPixel was built for.

Pricing

How much do PostPixel and Buffer cost?

PostPixel

PostPixel starts from $49 a month. Solopreneur is $49, Teams is $79 and Agency is $99 with 3 client workspaces included, then $37 a month for each extra workspace. Every plan has the precision editor, a 7-day free trial and no contracts, and you can cancel anytime. See full pricing.

Buffer

Buffer prices by channel. On October 29, 2026 its pricing page listed a Free plan (up to 10 scheduled posts per channel, 1 user), Essentials at $6 per channel a month billed monthly ($5 billed yearly) and Team at $12 per channel a month billed monthly ($10 billed yearly). Team adds unlimited users and approval workflows. Buffer lists volume discounts above 10 channels and a 14-day free trial. • You or your crew already take photos on the job

Is PostPixel a Buffer alternative?+

For the four platforms PostPixel covers, yes. PostPixel makes the posts and publishes them to Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile and LinkedIn, so you do not need a separate scheduler for those. Buffer covers more channels, but you make the posts yourself.

How much does Buffer cost compared with PostPixel?+

On October 29, 2026 Buffer listed a Free plan, Essentials at $6 per channel a month and Team at $12 per channel a month (billed monthly; less when billed yearly). PostPixel starts from $49 a month and includes the post creation, not only the scheduling. Check both pricing pages before you decide, because prices change.

Does Buffer post to Google Business Profile?+

Yes. Buffer lists Google Business Profile as a supported channel. PostPixel also publishes to Google Business Profile, and once it is connected your Google reviews can become branded posts.

Can I use my own job photos in Buffer?+

Yes. You can upload your own photos and videos to Buffer, and write or edit the caption. With PostPixel you upload the photos and Pixel designs the post and writes the caption for you.

Which is better for an agency with local clients?+

It depends on the work. Buffer suits agencies that already produce content and need scheduling across many channels. PostPixel suits agencies whose clients send photos from the field and want posts made from them. The Agency plan is $99 a month with 3 client workspaces, then $37 a month each, and every workspace has its own Brand Kit.

Does PostPixel have a free trial?+

Yes. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, with no contracts, and you can cancel anytime.
